Reynier Aldana is a Cuban singer, songwriter, bassist, and guitarist born in Havana and raised in Nuevo Vedado. Beginning his musical journey as a percussionist at 14, he later moved into guitar and bass, eventually founding the band MATE in 2003 and performing across Cuba. His music blends Afro-Cuban rhythms with pop rock, funk, bolero, and electronic elements, creating a sound deeply rooted in Cuban tradition while remaining open to contemporary influences. After relocating to Galicia, Spain, Aldana expanded his musical language through collaborations with artists including Alejandro Vargas, L.A.R. Legido, Chus Pasos, Max Gómez, and Gustavo Almeida. In 2016, he released his debut work, Huella, co-produced with Brazilian guitarist Leonardo Rodrigues.
